Welcome and thank you for showing interest in the Rites of Passage Program. Established in 1990, The Rites of Passage Program provides a positive mentoring experience for African American youth who come primarily from single parent homes.
The use of Rites of Passage programs mark the passage of African American males females from childhood to adulthood was first used in this country in the early 1970's. Since that time, the Rites of Passage in various forms has become a well-known program within the black community as a way to teach the kind of positive values that would help young people avoid drug abuse, violence, crime, and other negative behavior.
